The Landcommandery Alden Biesen was built by the German Order (Teutonic knights). Nowadays this castle is a cultural centre of the Flemish Community. Alden Biesen did not only set up historical and European activities but the Landcommandery is also a congress centre and a cultural and tourist attraction.

• Located in the province of Limburg, on the territory of the city of Bilzen;

By public transport: from the train stations of Hasselt and Liège you can catch the train to Bilzen. From there you can take the ‘bell bus’ or taxi. There are regular trains between these stations. For more information see: www.nmbs.be. Alden Biesen is 5 km from the train station at Bilzen.

To make a reservation for the ‘bell bus’, you should contact the ‘bell bus’ centre at least one hour beforehand on +32(0)11 850 300. Opening hours are:

• on weekdays from 6.00 to 19.30
• on Saturday from 7.30 to 20.30
• on Sundays and public holidays from 10.00 to 20.30

This ‘bell bus’ runs on a set timetable:

• on weekdays from 6.30 to 20.20
• on Saturday from 8.30 to 20.05
• on Sundays and public holidays from 10.30 to 19.05

Please note that the ‘bell bus’ only runs when requested in advance

• Charleroi (Brussels South) ( + 110 km) and
